Bon Jovi is an American band which was born in 1983 in New Jersey, where its leader and vocalist Jon Francis Bongiovi Jr (better known as Jon Bon Jovi) is from.

The rock group is formed by: Jon Bon Jovi (vocals), David Bryan (keyboards), Tico Torres (drums), Huhg Mcdonald (bass) and Phil X (guitar) who came to replace the original guitarist, Richie Sambora, who left the band in 2013 due to differences with his fellows.

The consecration of the group came with their third album “Slippery when wet”. This album contains some of their most famous songs: You Give Love a Bad Name or Living on a Prayer, considered by many people the best rock song of the 80s.

From 1997 to 1999 Jon Bon Jovi decided to start his solo career and it was not until the year 2000 that the band got together again and once again evolved aesthetically and musically, now towards pop rock and they also began to flirt with the country style.

From then until today, his songs are characterized by dealing with more social issues.

With more than 30 years making a name for themselves on the music scene, Bon Jovi is one of the rock bands that has sold the most since its creation and is considered one of the main bands of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Its musical and aesthetic style has evolved over the years. The rise of alternative rock in the 90s made them abandon the glam aesthetic that characterized the band in their beginnings, leaving aside the festive 80s melodies and turning to a more mature hard rock that evolved in the middle of this decade towards alternative rock.
